HISTORY

Sacos del Atlantico was originally founded under the name of Samcarsa (Sacos Multipliegos y Cartones, S.A.) on March 1986 focusing in the local market, in the production of bags for the industry of cement, lime, construction and food (flours, seeds, concentrates). Located in the City of Guatemala, it had a strategic location to serve the local market.

Due to the increase of the need of high quality bags in the region and also to the arise of new technology in automatic filling machines in the industry of cement and with the objective of venturing internationally, the present plant was founded on July 19th, 2004. It is located in Rio Hondo, Zacapa, Guatemala (127 Km far from the City). It has wide facilities and a modern equipment for the production of bags (multiwall paper sacks) and capacity installed of 130 million of bags.

Currently, we count with a Code of Values, Ethics and Behavior -COVEC- (as in Spanish) which guide us to an ethical behavior, genuine leadership, solidarity and commitment to the sustainability of the company. Thanks to the experience while living our code, combined with our Leadership Agenda, we have been recognized as a great place to work in the region and in Latin America by the Great Place to Work Institute.
